Basic product data:
IEK brand portable cable reel with overheating protection (hereinafter referred to as the portable power cord) is used to connect remote electrical loads to a single-phase power supply with a voltage of 230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz.
The portable power cable fulfils the requirements of the technical regulations LVD 2014/35/EU, RoHS 2011/65/EU, (EU) 2015/863.
Scope of application of the portable power cable: temporary power supply in buildings (portable power cable with IP20 protection) and outdoors (portable power cable with IP44 protection) of portable, mobile electrical appliances and electrical installations.
Safety precautions:
Portable power cords from the INDUSTRIAL, INDUSTRIAL PLUS and PROFESSIONAL series fulfil Class I in accordance with IEC 61140.
Portable power cables from the GARDEN series fulfil Class II. Regularly check the electrical connections and the integrity of the flexible cable.
During operation, the portable power cord must be installed away from the chemically active environment, flammable and highly flammable objects.
When operating the portable power cord in sub-zero temperatures, the cable should be unwound and wound onto the reel indoors when the air temperature is positive.
When using a portable power cord with an uncoiled cable, keep the cable away from sharp and cutting objects that may damage it.
Prohibited:
To operate a portable power cord with mechanical damage to the housing and flexible cord. To disassemble the product.
To connect loads that exceed the permissible total power to the portable power cord. To connect the portable power cord to a damaged socket.
Caution:
Avoid bending and impact loads on the cable when operating the portable power cord in sub-zero temperatures.
The portable power cord has a built-in thermal switch, which is controlled by the "Return" button and protects the flexible cord from overheating if the permissible load is exceeded.
If the portable power cord is disconnected (the thermal switch trips) when the allowable heating temperature of the flexible cord is exceeded, the following actions should be taken:
- After 1-2 minutes (the time required for the thermal bimetal to cool down), press the red "Return" button on the front of the portable power cord housing;
- If the thermal switch is switched off again after pressing the "Return" button, this is necessary to reduce the total power of the connected load.
