Cable ties

Cable ties are versatile, quick-to-use and cost-effective fasteners that were originally developed for fixing cables and cable harnesses. Today, they are used in numerous areas such as construction, packaging and security. Most cable ties are made of polyamide 6.6 (PA 6.6), which is characterised by its high strength, abrasion resistance and resistance to heat and chemicals. For special requirements, there are also variants made of stainless steel or polyurethane, which offer additional protection against UV rays, weathering and extreme temperatures. The standard cable ties use an integrated catch that tightens the strap and ensures a permanent connection. Alternatively, there are models with a metal tongue for increased tensile strength and reusable cable ties. In addition to classic applications, cable ties can be used for labelling, as a packaging aid or even as disposable handcuffs. Highly flexible polyurethane variants are particularly suitable for sensitive materials such as plants, while heat-resistant or specially coated models can withstand extreme conditions. As polyamide is hygroscopic, the water content affects the flexibility and strength of the cable ties. Correct storage is therefore crucial to ensure optimum product quality. These diverse properties make cable ties indispensable helpers in industry, trade and the home.
